Chris, character sheet ;
ravelled_ribbon
Chrisothemis Walker is from a pureblooded family of one of the Highland clans, her bloodline was that of the clans official witches back when there was no law in Scotland preventing muggles from knowing of magical folk and they co - operated fully within their own clans. Her squib father studied classics at university and named her after a character in Electra, much to her chagrin. Her mother is a healer in Saint Mungo's and had always wanted Chris to follow in her footsteps, naturally Chris has other ideas.
A voracious reader, her extended family made sure she received a rather more comprehensive education than most under elevens, producing a rather odd, very serious child who took to wearing black at a young age. As the youngest of her vast family by around ten years and the friends of her parents remaining childless for much of her youth she was unused to being around people her own age. Attending Hogwarts she was mildly horrified to be sorted into Gryffindor as her Ravenclaw mother had not only made it clear that Ravenclaw was the only acceptable option but that Gryffindor was the home of boisterous brainless louts. However she swiftly discovered that only one of the three was in fact the case and there was nothing much wrong with a little boisterousness. An aggressive, arrogant, twitchy opinionated person she made it clear from the start that she was as she was and would not change, and that if people wanted to be her friends that was fine and if not then their loss. Some people dislike her because if she thinks something she will say it and will rigorously argue for unpopular opinions if she believes in them. She cannot tolerate bullying and will always intervene. Others quite like her for this reason, most however are indifferent one way or the other. Early on in the school she got into a few physical fights on account of her uncompromising personality and general weirdness but has since almost completely withdrawn from physical actions.
She made an incoherent whimper of delight upon discovering the library and disappeared for three days. Much of her school career has been dedicated to accessing the restricted section (thus far unsuccessful).
She took up ancient runes and care of magical creatures, which was an awful mistake as apart from her cat Alecto, she doesn’t get on well with many animals as they larger ones can tell she is afraid of them. It is also a very practical subject and she prefers to work with theory. Her favourite subject is actually History of Magic, for two reasons. Firstly she finds the subject deeply riveting, as she also finds Muggle history, and spends a lot of her time researching both and trying to piece them together to see where they interlock. Secondly, with all this work she does in her spare time, it really doesn’t matter that Proffessor Bins is deeply boring and she uses his lessons to catch up on the sleep she misses at night. She discovered that her patronus was a falcon which gave her hope, as she had always wanted to fly, but was not apt enough at transfiguration to become an animagus. At this point her mother gave up the idea that she could be a healer, as Chrisothemis made it clear that she would not pursue the subject at NEWT because of this. She chose instead History of Magic, Herbology, Ancient Runes, Astronomy and Charms; an eclectic choice but she honestly didn’t care, she was having fun.
Now in seventh year she has studied frantically to achieve top grades and is hoping to attain top marks in her NEWTS in order to attend the prestigious Pendragon college of Glastonbury University to study The History of Magic and Magical Art (combined honours). She has never wanted to play quidditch and actually detests it but goes to the matches anyway for the atmosphere and socialisation. She has variety of friends from all four houses, mostly equally mad and a Slytherin boyfriend (for which neither of them particularly gained popularity). They mostly met through the various society’s run by sympathetic teachers; the Latin and Greek club, the chamber choir in which she is a soprano and the debating society(Chris loves Thursday evenings) and are very loyal to each other. Chris (as she introduces herself) tends to wear black, occasionally dresses as a man (although she doesn’t actually try to pretend she is one), a lot of lace and leather and a large amount of dangling earings, bangles and new age jewellery. Her eyes are blue and her mid brown hair is very long because it hasn’t occurred to her to cut it in years and is very very messy. She is still twitchy and angry, but a lot more controlled and determined to do things. After her degree she will use the nest egg her aunt has put aside for when she turns twenty one and use it to open a shop for rare manuscripts and paintings, which she will also value, restore and give consultations on. She will then use the respectability and earnings from this to launch a political career in her thirties in order to push forward reforms regarding werewolf rights and the treatment of part human species, which she has always felt is particularly unjust. People tell her they won’t be grateful, but she despises such people because they have completely missed the point.

Cassandra, fiction ;
moondustwolf
Cassandra sighed as she pulled her trunk closer to her, wincing at the feel of the corner of the heavy luggage pressing into her side through her cloak. She bit her lip and shifted a bit more, her eyes traveling nervously between several especially grim-looking students sitting across from her and whispering, and the bleak conditions of the weather outside the train’s windows. Focusing her hearing briefly on the conversation of the students on the other side of the car, she caught a side comment involving the word “mud blood” shot with a nod in her direction. She rolled her eyes and made a mental note to get as far away from the slick-haired racists as possible whenever she could.
She couldn’t help wondering if this idea was such a good one. It had been her parents’ originally, and Flammel be cursed if it wasn’t true that their suggestions weren’t always the brightest ones. Still, after 5 years of being home-schooled her magic, she had all but leapt at the chance to see the culture of a professionally-run school- and to get away from home. At the same time, there was her own nervousness, and that was just a tag-on to the terror she knew had occurred at Hogwarts. The Dark Lord, the headmaster’s murder- it had only just missed being enough to make her mother and father revoke their encouragement.
The Express pulled to a stop and a loud, monotonous, almost robotic female voice came through the speakers, giving typical orders about baggage and leaving the train. Relieved of her suitcase, Cassandra darted from the car the moment the doors opened in front of her, and almost charged straight into a tall woman with hair pulled back into a bun, who looked down on her with eyebrows raised through her glasses. This had to by Professor McGonagall, it was obvious from the glasses. The new headmistress didn’t bother much with small talk it seemed, for her method of introduction was to bark “Miss Wyncher, correct”. After Cassandra nodded, McGonagall finally did smile. “Nice you could come” she said softly, before becoming stern “I hope you’ve become more diligent, though than you were in your past. You cannot slack off here”
“Of course not. I know what I need to do now and I’m going to do it” Cassandra replied, gulping inwardly. She had not always been the best of students and knew she was lucky to have been admitted here.
“Very good”. The response was met by a sharp nod, and a quick speech about Gryffindor House, which she had been pre-sorted into. As she would only spend two years here, being a part of the official Sorting Ceremony had seemed trivial. Cassandra simply nodded at the blur of words thrown out at her, and then shifted with the mass crowd into the magnificent school castle.
Once she entered (or rather, was unceremoniously shoved) through the doors into a huge room, she started taking note of her surroundings. This, she knew, was the Great Hall, and every ounce of the place made her jaw drop. Food of every kind on long tables, sheer size that seemed impossible, and the ceiling…it was as though the sky itself had suck down, a portion of the heavens reserved just for the students and teachers in this space. She ate, she clapped, she shook hands with other members of her new house. Everything happened so rapidly, it all stuck as one moment in her mind, and long before she was ready, mealtime was over.
Exhaustion set in as Cassandra climbed behind her fellow students, following them to the common room. She trooped up to the bedroom reserved for sixth year girls behind a petite redhead. The other girl turned and smiled as they reached the top of the stairs. “Ah, you must be the new one” she said with a friendly smile.
“Yeah, I am” Cassandra said brightly. “And you are…?”
“Ginny Weasley” the other replied with a smile.
“Oh, of course! Your brothers have that joke shop, and you’re the one, you know ‘dating the famous Harry Potter’” Cassandra cried with a grin. From the expression on Ginny’s face though, she momentarily wondered if she’d said something wrong. She did have a tendency to blurt things out. After a second through, the friendliness was back.
“Yeah, well…” Ginny paused, coughed, and then barged ahead. “Anyway, completely forgot to ask your name. Cassandra, right?” Cassandra laughed slightly, and gave a shrug.
“I think that’s too formal. Call me Cassie.”
Cassie ran down the hall as fast as her legs could carry her, trying not to panic as she sped toward the opposite end of the castle. How could she have lost track of time? Now she had about two minutes to be sitting down in Transfiguration.
“Damn it!” she hissed out loud, the words catching in her throat and coming out choked due to her burning lungs. Finally, she saw the stairway that lead up to the large classroom, and clambered up it, only then checking her watch. She slid only semi-gracefully into her seat with just minutes to spare.
“Did you get lost, Ms. Wyncher?” Professor McGonagall’s voice cut through her relief as she sunk into her seat, tossing a look towards Ginny.
“Er…no.” Cassandra said, sucking in the last of her weak breath and trying to speak normally. “Just...got held up a little”. Behind McGonagall’s head, Ginny smirked and gave her friend a look with raised eyebrows.
“Getting ‘held up a little’ often does not entail charging like a mad bull halfway across the school grounds” the headmistress said firmly. Her voice was strict, but Cassie could have sworn to have seen a glint of humor there.
“Yes, right. I know. Sorry” she said quickly, averting her own eyes as those of all the other members of the class focused on her. She ducked to hide the hot blush crossing her cheeks, but also to keep herself from laughing. McGonagall, meanwhile, just rolled her eyes and ordered the students to turn to page 734 in their books so that they could begin studying how to turn ordinary objects into weaponry.
When the class was over, Cassandra gathered her things as quickly as possible and almost threw herself down the steps. Only when she was a safe distance away did she stop to wait for Ginny. The other girl had not stopped grinning for the past hour.
“You should have seen the look on your face!” Ginny crowed as soon as she was within earshot. “That’ll teach you to be even close to late in McGonagall’s eyesight- comparing
you to a-!”
“Yeah, yeah” Cassie rolled her eyes, and started back down the hall, shrugging the straps of her pack back up on top of her shoulders. “Come on” she said, determined to retain some of her dignity. “I’m hungry. Let’s go down for dinner now”
The moment they entered The Great Hall, an air came down on that subconsciously doused their lighthearted mood. The giant room, though filled with students, was almost dead silent. Groups huddled over copies of the Daily Prophet, reading the newspapers silently.
“Something’s happened” Ginny murmured, voice soft and tense. Not bothering to ask any questions, the two girls found a pair of empty seats at the far end of the Gryffindor table and sat down. Cassandra pulled an extra abandoned copy of the Prophet towards them and they both looked down upon the front page. It was only a moment before she felt herself suck in a sharp break.
‘MINISTER OF MAGIC MURDURED”
The title was slapped across the front page in two-inch high letters, with a detailed picture below the headline showing the gruesome scene of a handsome executive office splattered with blood. The article went on to describe how the minister- and several of his young underlings- had been brutally killed in a break-in by Death Eaters. The attack had been aided by Dementors, and the few who had dared to help and not died had suffered a far worse fate. Cassie closed her eyes weakly at the thought of the soulless beings.
“God” Again, Ginny was the first to speak, a hand slid over her mouth “Oh God. Oh no.”
“Your father.” Cassandra realized abruptly. “Your family. Oh…are they”
“No” Ginny responded, her voice thick with relief at that at least. “My dad quit working at the Ministry. I think he expected something like this to happen. It’s just…” Before she could continue, there was a scream and an outburst of sobbing. A girl Cassie only recognized by last name had slid to her knees in hysterics, being weakly comforted by several of her friends. Her brother had been one of the assistants murdered.
It was another few minutes- of silence mixed with occasional weeping- before McGonagall strode into the Hall, no longer looking like a haggard teacher, but now like the somber but elegant headmistress she had had to become. She was at the front of all the students within moments.
“As you all have now heard”, her voice boomed over them all “There was very recently an extremely serious and tragic attack on the Ministry of Magic headquarters. The Minister and several others were murdered. It is with deep condolences that I acknowledge that some of you lost friends and family members in this event. For those of you enduring this, your families have been asked to come up here. We will keep them safe and assist in all funeral matters. You all have my deepest sympathies and attempts at understanding.”
She took a deep breath before continuing “From now in, the school is in lock-down. All classes will only be held within these walls- we will make arrangements for those lessons held on the outer grounds. Nobody may go anywhere alone. Always walk with someone. And, as a final measure, we have installed an alarm system. If you hear the sirens at any time, proceed to this hall as quickly as possible where we will have set up shelter. Do not attempt to take anything with you. It won’t be worth your lives.”
With that, she left again, diplomatically as before, though noticeably distressed. Ginny had her head in her heads.
“I didn’t think it could get this bad this quickly” she said softly. It gave Cassie time to swallow painfully, and she nodded as her friend continued “We aren’t all going to make it out of this alive. And Harry’s going to have to…I don’t know how long it will be…” She broke off, pressing her palms against her eyes.
“It’ll be all right” Cassandra whispered, though she only said it in desperation as her own vision clouded slightly. Everything’s going to be fine. Have-“ she paused for a second. “Have faith”
“In what” Ginny snapped, though she didn’t say it in a mean way. More an exhausted one, worn and weary. Cassie shrugged and gestured blankly around them, though she didn’t really know why.
“In anything.”
She couldn’t help wondering if this idea was such a good one. It had been her parents’ originally, and Flammel be cursed if it wasn’t true that their suggestions weren’t always the brightest ones. Before I came to this community, I thought myself as very Ravenclaw. But ever since I was stamped Gryffindor I’ve grown considerably more comfortable in the lion skin. I’m recognizing more Gryffindor-like traits in myself, and I’ve also started to note personality and interest similarities between myself and my other housemates. All this being said, I have feeling I’d be sorted into Gryffindor.
I doubt that I would have an Animagus unless there were some pressing reason (such as the Marauders). I think that my Patronus would be an eastern Dragon. I was born in the Year of the Dragon, which started my connection with dragons. I feel the eastern Dragon would be representative of me when I’m at the prime for defense/fighting. It’s elegant and articulate, but at the same time is fearsome and dangerous.
As I said in my application, as far as Wizarding jobs go, I would aspire to be an Auror. So classes I’d enjoy would be in one of two categories. Classes that are necessary and classes that allow me to be creative. Defense Against the Dark Arts, Charms, and Transfiguration would be obvious enjoyable classes for me. Defense Against the Dark Arts is something I would be exceptionally good at as I have an interest in the Dark Arts, but not in such a way as I would a Death Eater in training. Potions, I know, would be a huge trial for me. When it comes to mathematics and various sciences in my real life, I’ve always had something of a struggle.
My workload would be quite sufficient, and though I’d be a vocal supporter of the Quidditch team, I wouldn’t be a member.
I love Hogwarts with all my heart because of the diverse and vast array of classes, teachers, and students. I like the independence and the excitement that it entails.
I’d be liked for the fact that I’d be open minded and friendly as often and as much as possible. I’d be willing to take risks for friends, and always put forth my best effort. Reasons I’d be disliked would be these risks may end up hurting others along some lines. Also, my quirkiness can come off as spastic and annoying.

Kiri’s first year at Hogwarts
When the Hogwarts letter arrived Kiri was overjoyed although her mum stated that it didn’t come as a surprise to her. In Diagon Alley they got all the things needed for the first year at Hogwarts and Kiri received not only her first wand (10 ½ inch rowan and unicorn hair) but also her owl Brownie as a present so she could stay in touch with her mum.
When the time came to leave at Platform 9 ¾ her mum reminded her to be good and not get into trouble. Kiri gave her a mischievous grin, told her not to worry and climbed into the train to find an empty compartment. She wasn’t sad to leave only excited and curious what might lie ahead.
During the train journey she got to know the people in her compartment and walked along the train as she couldn’t sit still the whole time. She had conversations she enjoyed with several people. There were even a couple who she marked down as possible friends. Every now and then the conversations were interrupted by excited chatter and laughter in which Kiri in her excitement joined in. Everybody seemed glad to return to Hogwarts.
Getting to Hogsmeade station she was totally taken in by the place and by Hagrid and when she saw the first glimpse of the castle she knew she was going to be more happy there than at her previous school.
Professor McGonagall who greeted the new students as usual (or so she’d been told by the boy next to her who had older siblings at Hogwarts) seemed slightly intimidating to her. But she could also see fairness and a certain kindness in the teacher’s stern face. That should later be the face of her favourite teacher.
When the sorting began she saw one student after another get sorted into their houses and wondered whether she’d be good enough for any of them.
Finally Professor McGonagall called out her name and placed the sorting hat on her head. The hat contemplated for a short while being torn between Hufflepuff and Gryffindor. GRYFFINDOR! Cheers erupted from the Gryffindor table and she stumbled to the table of her new House blushing furiously but nonetheless enjoying the attention.
Her first weeks in Hogwarts she spent getting used to her surroundings and exploring the castle. She even stumbled across a couple of secret passages that got her to her classes faster. Being adventurous and inquisitive she was dieing to explore the Forbidden Forrest and got told off by Hagrid (with whom she made friends due to her love for animals) for asking him about it regularly. He always told her stories about the forest for example that Voldemort was seen in that forest during Harry Potters first year. She was always interested to hear Hagrid tell stories of Harry Potter.
In her House she made a couple of friends who seemed to be just as adventurous and mischievous as herself. They stuck together most of the time and were always up to something. They got to know Dobby the house elf once when they were up late in the common room and she gave him a pair of her stripy socks because he admired them so much. It was him who told them how to get into the kitchen which led to their first detention pretty soon. They were caught in the corridor after bed-time (for some reason Professor McGonagall didn’t believe they got lost on their way to the bathroom and ended up near the kitchen with their pyjama pockets full of cookies instead).
As far as classes were concerned Kiri discovered that her talents were with subjects that had practical aspect as well as theoretical. In
Transfiguration, Charms, DATDA and Potions she did particularly well and to Snape’s (er, Professor Snape’s of course) dismay she got along pretty well with the Slytherin girl he made her share her table with ever since he’d caught her imitating the way he was swinging his cloak over his shoulder.
The subject she liked least was History of Magic. Professor Binns droning voice made her almost fall asleep every time. Luckily she could tune out his voice and read under her desk in the dusty old book about early Quidditch teams she’d got from the library.
Ever since flying lessons started on the Quidditch Field Hogwarts became even more intriguing to her as she was enjoying them immensely even considering tryouts for the Gryffindor Quidditch team in her second year.
Holidays she either spent with her friends at their home, at her home with her mum or she stayed at Hogwarts. The Christmas holidays she stayed at Hogwarts because her mum had to go on a “business trip” for her new job at Gringotts. That stay brought the discovery (thanks to a couple of hints from Fred and George Weasley) of a secret passageway into Honeydukes in Hogsmeade although she and her three best friends (who stayed also) only narrowly avoided being caught by McGonagall who was stopping Peeves from flooding the corridor.
Towards the end of the year Kiri could actually be seen studying for her exams (something that had never occurred in muggle-school). For some reason doing well in that school mattered to her and she was very glad when she passed her exams well and even became top of the year in Transfiguration.
At the end of year banquet she enjoyed the good food and made plans for the holidays with her friends and also discussed what the second year might bring. Her second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the best thing that happened in her life so far.

Kiri, character sheet ;
just_passing
Name: Kiri
Birthdate: Feb 9th
Ancestry: half-blood
Mother: Elizabeth (witch)
Father: Peter (muggle)
Siblings: one younger brother (Henry) who hasn’t shown any magical powers
Childhood: I grew up in a little village being around animals most of my free time. When my parents divorced I moved with my mother to the next bigger city while my father and brother remained in the village. My father’s as well as my mother’s family resent my mum for being a witch and me for being too much like her. That I am a witch as well is clear to my mother ever since I managed to turn my hair bright pink while playing with my mum’s wand at the age of 1 1/2.
At muggle-school I’ve been a trouble maker but managed not to get caught most of the time due to almost “magical” luck.
Pet: a cat called Feline and a dog called Ron as well as my mum’s owl Gaya
Appearance:
Eyes: blue
Hair: blond and curly
At Hogwarts:
Pet: my owl Brownie
Wand: 10 ½ inch rowan with unicorn hair core
House: Gryffindor
Career: either Auror or Teacher
Boggart: loved ones in danger or dead without me being able to get to them and help
Patronus: big dog
At Hogwarts I would be sorted into Gryffindor house although the hat would be torn between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff as I am equally loyal and courageous. In the end my activeness and inquisitiveness and a certain tendency to explore would make the hat chose Gryffindor.
In Gryffindor house I would likely find two or three close friends who share my love to explore things. We would do things together like studying, exploring the castle, sitting by the fire in the common room to talk, etc With the other students of my house I would get along all right. I don’t think that I’d seriously dislike any of them although I might get on people’s nerves for sometimes being too loud and too enthusiastic about something.
Most likely I’d get along ok with most students from other houses as well and might even make friends in the other houses. I always tend to be friendly with a lot of people but to have only a small group of close friends with whom I’d have the most fun. Those people I’d trust and value beyond anything and I’d do anything for them.
My best classes would be Transfiguration, Charms, DADA and Potions because they have theoretical as well as practical aspects. I would also like Herbology (although I’m quite hopeless with plants), Astrology (who isn’t interested in the stars?!), Ancient Runes (because I love languages), Care of Magical Creatures (because I love animals).
Divination and History of Magic would probably be my worst subjects. Divination because I wouldn’t be able to get the right feeling for it and History of Magic because Binns is just the most boring teacher imaginable.
Being extremely interested in Transfiguration (which would be my best subject as well) I would try to figure out how to become an animagus. If all works out well I suppose I would turn into a dog. This would suit my general personality as in being loyal and friendly but also very protective of the ones I love, even fierce when I sense them in danger but otherwise playful, active and inquisitive but also liking my peaceful moments.
My patronus could well be a big dog also for stated reasons and I always got along extremely well with dogs, too.
The career I’d aspire would either be Auror so I could try to keep people safe and could have an active part in preventing “bad things” and fighting dark wizards or a teacher possibly of my favourite subject Transfigurations so I could encourage my students to further explore and improve their skills as well as to use them in a responsible manner.
I would sure play Quidditch. To sit at the side and just watch the game would drive me crazy. I need an active part in things. It’s very likely that I’d play as a Beater because the strength, quickness and cleverness this position requires as well as its protective function would be appealing to me.
I’d spend most of my freetime with my close friends exploring the castle and its secrets. I would want to find out as much as possible and not stop at the castle but extend m inquisitiveness to the Forbidden Forrest and its creatures as well as Hogsmeade. I’d probably end up in detention sometimes but generally I’d try not to get caught because of course I wouldn’t want my house to lose too many points because of me. If it happened I’d try to make up for it by performing exceptionally well in Quidditch and use every other chance to get house points back.
Hogwarts would have possibly been the best thing to happen to me and I would have loved it. Honestly, who wouldn’t?!
